Biographical note
Thomas Saenz was born in Pesqueria Chica, Nueva Leon, Mexico, in 1911. He lived in Mexico until 1914 when his family migrated to Texas. He first started working in the pharmacy business when he was twelve years old. Saenz was licensed as a pharmacist in 1934 after attending Baylor University via a three-year pharmacy correspondence course. He began working in Schumann's Rexall drugstore, and in 1940, he bought the business and renamed it New Braunfels Pharmacy.
