Personal Papers includes some general items such as her 1954 birth certificate, the bible presented to her by her parents in 1966, and some material she titled “Happy File” in the 1980s that contains letters, clippings, and other ephemera. The rest of the series is divided into three subseries: education; causes; and pets.

Europe Poems were originally housed together in one folder and date from Cisneros’ time abroad in Greece, 1982-1983. Some were later published in My Wicked Wicked Ways and Loose Woman. The poems are arranged alphabetically, with untitled poems and fragments at the end.
