The Ray Benson archive includes material documenting Benson’s music career from 1971-2017. Majority of the collection includes promotional articles, including an article from John Morthland; and awards. Included in the collection are photographs of Benson with President George W. Bush, Laura Bush, and others; Benson’s boots and concert jacket; and correspondence with Dolly Parton and others. The folder titles preceding a semicolon reflect Benson’s original descriptions.

Aaron Allan (1929-2022) was a well-known disc jockey, prolific songwriter and performer from New Braunfels, Texas. In 1959, Allan did one of the earliest radio interviews with a young, up and coming Johnny Cash while working at WOAI-AM, San Antonio, Texas.
