Scope and Contents
Archival materials received from playwright, Celeste Bedford Walker pertaining to her professional works from 1974-2020. The collection focuses on her written and performed productions of Black Spurs, More Than Christmas, Praise the Lord and Raise the Roof, Harlem After Hours, Adam and Eve, Spirits, Smoke’s Bayou, Black Diamonds, Noble Lofton Buffalo Soldier, The Boule, Greenwood, Shared Secrets, I Barbara Jordan, Sassy Mamas, Sassafras Girls, Piccolo Sergeant, Distant Voices, Brothers Sisters Husbands and Wives, Over Forty, Camp Logan, Reunion in Bartersville, The Wreckin Ball, Once in a Wife Time, Hip Hoppin the Dream, Obama Effect, The Members, Freedom Train, and Butterfly Girls. The collection contains reviews, press releases, correspondence, playbills, newspapers, CDs, DVDs, biographical information, photographs, budgets, and manuscripts of the works.
