Scope and Contents

The Domestic Art 1 notebook consists primarily of handwritten notes and printed lessons about types of stitches, names, descriptions, and prices of various tetiles, and samples of stitches, seams, and textiles. Also included are notes on hand embroidery and instructions on making dreses and other garments.

Scope and Contents

The Domestic Art 3 notebook contains instructions and patterns for patching and constructing garments, notes and samples of silk, wool, and other fabrics.

The Domestic Art 6 notebook contains notes and drawings of fibers, notes on spinning, weaving, and home laundrying, and samples and descriptions of different types of fabrics. Also included are steps and patterns for a suit and a detailed spreadsheet titled "Budget for 1 year for Freshman College Girl of Modest Means".
