Scope and Contents
This collection consists of the annual reports prepared by Albert B. Alkek library at Texas State University. Reports vary through the years but generally contain major planning goals, departmental accomplishments, department goals, data compilations and analysis, material and collection numbers, as well as expenditures and employees. Materials arranged by date.
Titles change over time, due to name changes of the university, as well as the library. The library used to be known as the Learning Resource Center when it was in the J.C. Kellam building. Titles include: Annual report for fiscal year, Annual statistical tables..., University Library annual report for fiscal year.., Southwest Texas State University annual report of the librarian..., Annual report of the librarian..., and Annual report of the Director of the Learning Resources Center.

Historical note
Texas State University was established by the 26th Legislature in 1899 as the Southwest Texas State Normal School; 313 pupils were enrolled in 1903-04, the first year classes were held. The school name changed to Southwest Texas State Normal College in 1918, to Southwest Texas State Teachers College in 1925, to Southwest Texas State College in 1959, to Southwest Texas State University in 1969, to Texas State University-San Marcos in 2003, and to Texas State University in 2013.

Stored in the Archives and Research Center offsite preservation. Advance notice is required for to view.
Immediate Source of Acquisition
Annual reports transferred by the Alkek Library to University Archives on a rolling basis until 2006. One copy of reports dated 1988-2006 from Alkek Administration Office.
