Scope and Contents
This collection consists of the various editions of the student handbook. Published each year, the student handbook assists students in navigating university life. Early editions of the handbook included information about registration, items to bring to school, athletics, and registration. Later editions acquainted students with the university's heritage, facilities, services, activities, personnel, regulations, and extracurricular activities. It contains Texas State's policies governing campus activities. It also contains the Code of Student Conduct in effect at the time of its publication. The most current Code of Student Conduct can be found online through the Office of the Dean of Students. Contents of the handbooks vary over time and reflect the changes of the institution. The handbook is a publication of Texas State University, produced by the Office of University Marketing and coordinated through the Dean of Students Office. It has been known as the Student Handbook (1922-1950), Hill Hints (1950-51 to 1993-94), the Southwest Texan (1994-95 to 2004-05), and the Student Handbook & Planner (2005-06 to present). Missing handbooks from 1964-65 and 2014-15.
