Biographical note
Dr. Pool started teaching at Texas State University in 1947. Dr. Pool gained his Bachelor's degree, Master's degree and PhD at University Texas at Austin. He then joined the United States Air Force as a pilot in WWII and in the Korean War. During his time at Texas State University, he was the first professor awarded the Teacher's Excellence Award. He co-authored fifteen books and articles, participated in various organizations and became the first paid baseball coach at Texas State University. Dr. Pool retired in 1986.
