Scope and Contents
The collection consists of nine oral histories with faculty members who had experience with the Department of History at Texas State University. The interviews were conducted in the Fall of 1991 by Mary A. Allen. It began as a term paper for Professor Swinney's graduate historiography, the project traced the evolution and changes which occurred within the history department during the "discernible past" [1940s-1990s]. The collection includes audio recordings and transcriptions of the interviews. The interviewees give accounts of curriculum changes, the University administration and the Department of History. Materials arranged alphabetically.
