Scope and Contents
Collection documents each lecture given and includes planning materials, pages and programs from a guest book with lecturers' signatures and messages, some posters, and commemorative medallions. Records of individual lectures may include transcripts, videorecordings, press releases, invitations, programs, and photographs. No lectures were given in 1988, 1993, 1999, 2006, 2008, or 2010.

Biographical note
Sisters Lynda Johnson Robb and Luci Baines Johnson were teenagers when their father suddenly became President of the United States on November 22, 1963. Both have been enthusiastic community volunteers, earning numerous civic awards for their service.
Robert Hardesty and Harry Middleton were speechwriters for President Johnson and helped him write his memoirs after leaving Washington. Hardesty was President Emeritus of Texas State, having served as president from 1981 to 1988. Middleton became the founding Director of the Lyndon B. Johnson Library and Museum and worked in that capacity for 30 years.
