Biographical / Historical

Professor Emeritus Bill Kolbe (1925-2018) taught art at SWT for 39 years--1964-2003. His whimsical style, sardonic wit, and technical skill made him a favorite of colleagues, students, and critics alike. An active University citizen, he served on the Faculty Senate and designed several Faculty Handbook covers. The total body of his work is enormous, but he is best known on campus for his University Christmas Cards, watercolors which he produced during the decade 1982 through 1991.
