Quiñones, John, 2020 November 9
Scope and Contents
This LBJ Distinguished Lecture was streamed live via Youtube.
The Common Experience at Texas State and the LBJ Distinguished Lecture Series present a special online event with John Quiñones, the ABC News veteran and creator/host of What Would You Do? The event celebrates the 55th anniversary of the Higher Education Act, which President Lyndon B. Johnson signed on the Texas State campus — his alma mater — in 1965. That act initiated the TRIO Programs, including Upward Bound, and opened doors of opportunity for young people across the nation. Quiñones is both an alumnus of Upward Bound and a former Texas State student, and his story is one of dynamics and inspiration.
The conversation is moderated by DaLyah Jones, Texas State alumna and writer for The Texas Observer.
