After moving to Texas in 1984, Corcoran worked as the country music critic for the Dallas Morning News. In 1994, he became the pop music critic for the Dallas Morning News until his move to Austin in 1995. Archival materials following music critic Brian Atkinson’s career from 1981 to 2015. Included are song lyrics, interview cassette tapes (Kent and Jenni Finlay, Terri Hendrix, James McMurtry, and Harold Eggers, etc.), newspaper articles, manuscripts, and promotion materials for concerts. The folder titles reflect Atkinson’s original descriptions.
