The second largest series in the collection is the audiocassette tapes. The cassettes are arranged in alphabetical order and include Austin bands such as: The Chickadiesles, John Cale, Clifford Antone, Ray Wylie, and Stevie Ray Vaughan.

Writer and journalist Brian T. Atkinson donated his interviews, research, notes, and drafts for his articles and for his book I’ll Be Here in the Morning: The Songwriting Legacy of Townes Van Zandt. Included in this donation are over 200 audiocassettes that contain interviews with legendary musicians about Townes Van Zandt.

Included in this donation are over 200 audiocassettes that contain interviews with legendary musicians about Townes Van Zandt.

Scope and Contents From the Series:

This collection contains materials received from writer Brian Atkinson which includes handwritten lyrics from Townes Van Zandt and Eric Andersen; correspondence pertaining to Ted Hawkin’s tribute album; and a co-written Kent Finlay, Dreamer manuscript by Atkinson and Jenni Finlay with a foreward by George Strait. The folder titles preceding a semicolon reflect Atkinson’s original descriptions, 1957-2016.

Series Description From the Series: The Audio and Video Material Series includes recordings of interviews conducted by the authors for the Stevie Ray Vaughan biography, as well as earlier recordings of published interviews with Stevie Ray Vaughan and Jimmie Vaughan. Bootleg recordings of various Stevie Ray Vaughan bands, such as the Cobras and Double Trouble, are included in this series, ranging in date from 1975 to 1990, including Stevie Ray Vaughan's last performance.
