The second largest series in the collection is the audiocassette tapes. The cassettes are arranged in alphabetical order and include Austin bands such as: The Chickadiesles, John Cale, Clifford Antone, Ray Wylie, and Stevie Ray Vaughan.

Scope and Contents From the Collection: Archival material pertaining to the life and career of writier and rock historian, Ed Ward (1948-2021). Materials dating 1962-2019 include interview transcripts (musicians, bands, music industry icons), memorabilia and ephemera pertaining to Ward’s staff positions with Rolling Stone and the Austin American-Statesman, early writings, copies of the Antioch College McDowell Weakly, research materials (including reporter’s notebooks, notepads and index cards) pertaining to music, art, food and...

Series Description From the Series:

The majority of phonographs in this series are from Patoski's personal collection, but some were sent to him as promotional material. The audio cassettes are mostly non-professional recordings of music, and a few are of interviews with musicians. A relatively large portion of the audio cassettes are of the band Joe "King" Carrasco, which Patoski managed during the 1980s.

Series Description From the Series: The Patoski Files, maintained by Joe Nick Patoski, are divided into the same subseries as the Crawford Files: Research Materials, and Book Production Materials. The cataloger has maintained as much of Patoski's original order as possible for this material, but imposed some additional degree of order in the interest of accessibility.
