The research files include clippings, handwritten notes, photographs, and correspondence with research assistant Eva B. Denning, of Gallatin, TN, 1984-90. The typescripts have been arranged in alphabetical order by working titles.

Articles and essays in this subseries relate to Vliet’s own writing process and influences. All are in typescript form and most have handwritten annotations.
Early selections, [no title page] print outs (2 folders)
Cisneros’ 2015 book of essays, A House of My Own appears to have originally been titled “Writing in My Pajamas.” There are no final drafts of the book since the archive was acquired before its publication, but the material does provide evidence of her early essay selections. Many of the essays were previously published, and some overlap with series VII: Writings – Nonfiction.
