Cisneros’ University of Iowa thesis forms the basis for My Wicked Wicked Ways (box 49), and the original near-complete thesis is at the heart of this series; however, a few pages are missing. One should see also material in Series VIII: Early Poetry (box 42). Also included are drafts of the book preface, proofs, and cover art samples.

Photographers include her brother, Henry (Kiki) Cisneros, Joan Frederick, Alexandro Galindo, Ruben Guzman, Armando Rascón, Al Rendon, and Diana Solís, among others. Also included are a number of portraits of Cisneros with others, notably with her mother in 1998, and Gertrude Baker, Ruben Guzman, Denise Chavez, Jasna Karaula, and Emma Tenayuca.
