Included in this collection is research and drafts for screenplays, articles, and novels including Remember Ben Clayton, A Place Called Home, Justice for None, Young Caesar, Gates of Rome, and Broadway Joe. This donation also includes handwritten notes, journals, correspondence, scrapbooks, photographs, books, magazines, newspapers, and posters.

This series includes extensive research files and many annotated typescripts of Crook’s first novel. The research files include clippings, handwritten notes, photographs, and correspondence with research assistant Eva B. Denning, of Gallatin, TN, 1984-90. The typescripts have been arranged in alphabetical order by working titles.

Series I: Novels (1991-1999) documents the writing and editing process of Bonner’s four published novels, Lily, Looking After Lily, The Passion of Dellie O’Barr, and Right from Wrong. This series also includesthe unpublished novel “Flossie/War Dreams." Formats include research notes, annotated drafts, proofs, and correspondence.
