Series Description From the Series:

Series II contains personal correspondence, organized alphabetically. Some folders include photographs and published materials. Certain letters are only addressed to or from nicknames, including “Bibba” (Deborah Dobie) and “Guyo” (Guy Skiles). Of particular note is a series of letters sent between Dobie, and his wife Deborah Dobie in 1935-1936, while he was traveling the state collecting historical artifacts for the Texas Centennial Exposition’s Hall of State.

Yarborough (D- Texas), collected by Dudley Dobie, Sr. from the 1930s to the 1980s. The first subseries contains correspondence covering a wide range of subjects, from personal notes about books and Dobie’s bookstore to Yarborough’s thoughts on war and politics. The R. H. Bing papers consist of research and conference notes, correspondence, and publications linked to his research in Geometric Topology while a professor of mathematics at the University of Wisconsin at Madison and the University of Texas at Austin. His research later produced figures reflecting his life’s works, such as the well known, “Dog Bone” model.

Scope and Contents From the Collection:

The R. H. Bing papers consist of research and conference notes, correspondence, and publications linked to his research in Geometric Topology while a professor of mathematics at the University of Wisconsin at Madison and the University of Texas at Austin. Series Description From the Series:

These photographs are arranged by subject, including William Pool, Eugene C. Barker and his family, buildings and events. Most of the subjects of the photographs, other than Pool and Barker, are unidentified. The majority of the photographs are undated, but most of them look as though they were taken between the 1930s and 1970s. The collection includes seven envelopes of negatives and a film canister with an audio recording of Pool.

Scope and Contents From the Series:

This series is made up entirely of completed versions of seven theses directed by Peterson while he was a member of the English faculty at Southwest Texas State University. The series is arranged alphabetically by author.
