The Ray Benson archive includes material documenting Benson’s music career from 1971-2017. Majority of the collection includes promotional articles, including an article from John Morthland; and awards. Included in the collection are photographs of Benson with President George W. Bush, Laura Bush, and others; Benson’s boots and concert jacket; and correspondence with Dolly Parton and others. The folder titles preceding a semicolon reflect Benson’s original descriptions.

This series contains research on various people and places (arranged in alphabetical order), in the form of typewritten notes, photographs, scholarly papers, Tejano Press kits, Abraham’s military records, a Selena Boutique catalog and information on Texas radio stations. Yolanda Saldivar’s folder within this series contains her signed murder confession with the Corpus Christi police. In addition, there is extensive information collected on Tejano music and Tejano stars.

Archives material received from the surviving family of musician, Rich Minus. This collection are the remaining items of Rich Minus’s life possessions from childhood mementos, to posters, and handwritten song lyrics. Majority of the items in the collection were photocopied from the original documents due to issues of mold. Also, included in the collection are his well-known black cowboy hat, guitar and guitar strap are part of this collection, 1940-2018.
