Scope and Contents From the Collection: The Austin City Limits Collection spans the years from 1974 to 2002. It is a diverse collection that contains material and artifacts documenting Austin City Limits and artists connected with the show. The collection was compiled by Bill Arhos (co-creator, executive producer and program director for Austin City Limits), and also documents the Austin Film Festival and PBS-KLRU/KLRN. The bulk of the series is radio station press kits and promotional material. There are a small number of TV stations, news outlets, and film production companies also included. The many radio station coverage maps that span all across Texas are unexpected highlights of this series.

Scope and Contents From the Collection: Cash Edwards and Roger Polson created the 2 linear feet collection of papers for Under the Hat Productions during the company’s sixteen year existence starting in 1984 and ending in 2000. The majority of the papers contained are from the period of 1996 through 1999. The papers include a wide variety of promotional materials for their artist clients as well as a number of market research materials and press clippings. Scope and Contents From the Collection:

Archival materials relating to the career and personal life of musician/playwright/author, Bobby Bridger from 1944-2018. Included are photographs (including a photo of Bridger with Lady Bird Johnson); promotional material for A Ballad of the West; handwritten lyrics such as Heal in the Wisdom; and Bridger’s vinyl records of Merging of our Minds, And I Wanted to Sing for the People, and Heal in the Wisdom. Also, included in the collection is a screenplay for Shakespeare and the Indians.

This collection includes a wide expanse of Davis’s articles from 1980-2010, including articles from Davis’s music review column in the Austin-American Statesman. This collection also contains official SXSW and ACL music and program guides, as well as drafts of Davis’s comprehensive ACL book, Austin City Limits: 25 Years of Music.

Posters are divided into Willie Nelson and non-Willie Nelson subseries. The Nelson posters include ones for the sixth annual Fourth of July picnic; Honeysuckle Rose, and two advertising concerts. The bulk of the non-Willie Nelson posters are for concerts at the Austin Opry House by performers such as The Charlie Daniels Band, Kinky Friedman, Dave Loggins, The Lost Gonzo Band, and Taj Mahal.
