Series Description From the Series: This series consists of correspondence, notes and research material, draft manuscripts, final copies, and publicity related to Querry’s five major books. Correspondence may include personal- and publisher-related letters, contracts, permissions, and/or financial documents related to his books and notes and research material may contain newspaper clippings, journal articles, books, VHS tapes, and/or government bulletins. Of special note is that Querry has signed most of the final copies....

Scope and Contents From the Series:

Material donated includes manuscripts, newspaper and magazine articles on Lansdale and four computer discs with emails that have been printed out. These emails are mainly related to work by Lansdale and include some personal correspondence. Books accessioned separately [see Accession 2008-152] and placed in the backlog.

This series consists of photographs from the Querry’s trip to Havana, Cuba and Brittany (France) and various negatives and photographs, and photographs featured in Redneckin’: A Hell-raisin’, Foot-Stompin’ Guide to Dancin’, Dippin’ and Doin’ Around in a Gen-U-Wine Country Way (1983).

Archival materials following the life and career of an American writer, author, martial arts expert, and martial arts instructor Joe R. Lansdale. Majority of the materials in this collection are movie scripts of Christmas with the Dead; Christmas of the Dead 2; and episode scripts of Hap and Leonard. Included are floppy disks; Convention brochures and schedules; printed emails and letters to Joe Lansdale; convention passes; newspaper clippings; and proclamations, 2003-2016.

No transcript currently exists for these 3 audiocassettes, but the tapes have been transferred to CD as listening copies. Also included are the typescript and galleys for an interview of Shepard by Paris Review, regarding Shepard’s writing process, 1997, and an interview with Shepard on National Public Radio’s “Fresh Air”, August 1996.
