Archival materials following the research of writer, Mike Cox, on the Texas Rangers. This collection is made up of government documents, drafts, stories, Ranger records, obituaries, and biographies of hundreds of former Rangers. The research begins right after the civil war up until the early 2000s.

Sub-Series Description From the Sub-Series: Original carved and inked woodblocks created by Barbara Whitehead commissioned by the Encino Press. These blocks have been scanned and printed on plain paper for ease of access. See print-outs and accompanying zip-disks in box 877. Print-outs are annotated with either a title taken from the block or simply a descriptive cataloger-assigned title; these are the titles listed in this quide. Film was edited in Wittliff's offices by Eric A. Williams and Stephen Purvis. Slides removed from original sleeves and put in archival sleeves. Marked original sleeves are in front of re-sleeved slides.

This series contains drafts of the script, costumes, photographs by Wittliff, the script supervisor's files, the editing and sound notes, publicity, distribution, and clippings of reviews and interviews. The archive also contains the dailies on film reels and a 16mm print of the film.
