"Visit of Yourself"
This subseries includes detailed documentation on the creation of Kirkland's short stories "The Disappearance of Widow Ellen", "Peck Woodside", and "Leet's Christmas". Also included are drafts of many incomplete short stories.
Visitor's Book, Preston Jones' Funeral, 1979
Jones died unexpectedly in September of 1979 after surgery for bleeding ulcers. This series contains documents concerning Jones' medical care and cause of death, obituaries, the funeral service, the memorial fund established at the Dallas Theater Center, sympathy cards, Christmas cards, acknowledgments from Mary Sue Jones, correspondence and reports on the estate.
Vital Records (birth certificate, report card, army discharge papers, etc.)
This series contains personal records such as report cards, army discharge, birth and marriage certificates. There are photographs of King, his family and friends, cancelled checks and tax records from the mid-1970s.

Two accessions of Celeste Bedford Walker's playscripts and screenplays including "Distant Voices", "Greenwood: An American Dream Destroyed", "Sassy Mamas", "Bartersville" and "Camp Logan". Also included are promotional items, photographs, correspondence, newspaper articles and reviews.

Material in this subseries includes essays written for college classes, and articles written for newspapers. Some published, many are unpublished. They are arranged in alphabetical order, with a special section for Kirkland's freshman year college papers.
