"United War Chest of Texas", October 10, 1943
Arranged in alphabetical order by the name of the series or show, these scripts date from Kirkland days at UT Austin's Radio House, circa 1940-1947. Typescripts and working drafts are included, as well as some photographs of the Radio House staff, including J. Frank Dobie. Of particular interest is the series entitled "Guardians of Freedom", which includes documents related to the Peck Woodside story Kirkland covered in Mexico.

This series contains journals, address books, correspondence, contracts, royalty payments, articles, clippings and photographs. The major part of the material relates to A Texas Trilogy and is made up of communications with agents, fans, and theaters concerning options on the plays. Included is correspondence with Hal Wallis in regard to the movie production of the Trilogy.

Arranged chronologically, this series includes photocopies and printouts of articles and columns written by Shrake and published in newspapers and magazines, from 1953-2006. These folders do not contain all of Shrake’s published work in periodicals, particularly regarding his years as a sportswriter and police beat reporter in Fort Worth and Dallas. Most notably missing is anything from his work at the Dallas Times Herald.
