These blocks have been scanned and printed on plain paper for ease of access. See print-outs and accompanying zip-disks in box 877. Print-outs are annotated with either a title taken from the block or simply a descriptive cataloger-assigned title; these are the titles listed in this quide. Prnt-outs are also annotated with the titles of books in which the images appeared, such as: Deep Like...

Series Description

Videotapes document the project by capturing the team members traveling and planning their progress, and by including some oral history work. These tapes are marked either “Pie Town” or “San Augustine”, and are numbered. Additionally, one tape includes a thirty-minute interview with Russell Lee circa 1975, produced by Paul Hightower.

Two-hundred forty-eight of these photographs by Russell Lee were taken for the Farm Security Administration (FSA) between 1936 and 1942. The gems of this part of the collection are the 130 vintage prints; most are complete with captions typed on the back by FSA staff. After a certain point in time, Jean Lee took over the duty of gathering this information and maintaining notebooks for this purpose.
