Included are a 1962 diary and general correspondence (arranged chronologically). While the bulk of Broyles’s Texas Monthly correspondence is housed in Series II: Magazines, this selection of personal correspondence does include some letters addressed to him as editor of the magazine. Sub-Series Description From the Sub-Series: The bulk of the Magazine Series relates to Texas Monthly. Broyles was the founding editor of the magazine and served in that role until 1980. Correspondence, Subject Files, Administrative Records, and Issue Files comprise this series. A western starring Gary Busey and Willie Nelson. This series contains drafts of the script, costumes, photographs by Wittliff, the script supervisor's files, the editing and sound notes, publicity, distribution, and clippings of reviews and interviews. The archive also contains the dailies on film reels and a 16mm print of the film.

A western starring Gary Busey and Willie Nelson. This series contains drafts of the script, costumes, photographs by Wittliff, the script supervisor's files, the editing and sound notes, publicity, distribution, and clippings of reviews and interviews. The archive also contains the dailies on film reels and a 16mm print of the film.

Arranged by genre (articles, books, sound recordings, screenplays, short stories and teleplays), most of the works in this series are based on or inspired by Shepard’s works. Authors mailed the works to Shepard for his comments, and many items include typescripts annotated by Shepard and correspondence.

Sub-Series Description From the Sub-Series: Written and co-produced by Wittliff. Starred Jessica Lange and Sam Shepard. Wittliff began as director but was replaced by Richard Pearce. 1985, Lange won Academy Award nomination. The film received the Christopher Award. Scope and Contents From the Collection:

Five folders of works, financial papers, photographs, promotional kits, and clippings, 1984-1986 contain materials from the 1985 film "The Trip to Bountiful." The collection highlights the filming of the movie and includes the screenplay and stage-play (both signed by writer Horton Foote), a copy of the budget, the main titles, photographs taken during the filming, press kits, a long press book giving background on the film, and clippings pertaining to the movie.
