Hand forged hatchet, Frank Turley, Iron, steel, hickory, 15”H x 7/25”W x 1”D. Appraisal item I-19 , circa 1970

Scope

Gift from Turley to Simmons. Frank Turley is a nationally recognized craftsman and teacher. He started blacksmithing school in Santa Fe, NM in the 1960s and has since trained countless smithies. He is no longer producing work by his own hand; this is a rare unsigned example
