The Arreola Collection: Mexico and the Southwest is a large collection of materials collected by Daniel D. Arreola that document Mexican border towns, as well as North Mexico, South Texas, and general topics related to the Southwest. The bulk of the collection consists of postcards, with occasional photographs and ephemeral items.

Biographical Notes

Daniel D. Arreola is a cultural and historical geographer who specializes in the study of the Mexican American borderlands. A native Southern Californian, he earned bachelors and PhD degrees in geography from UCLA. He is an emeritus professor in the School of Geographical Sciences and Urban Planning at Arizona State University, where he has been a member of the faculty for twenty-six years. He resides in Placitas, New Mexico.
