Scope and Contents

This collection consists of archival material relating to the musical career and life of songwriter, country music singer and Country Music Hall of Fame inductee, Cindy Walker (1918-2006). The majority of this collections consists of the music and lyrics written by Cindy Walker, agreement contracts, copyright renewals, and photos of Cindy Walker. This collection also includes newspaper articles, programs, invitations to award ceremonies, and books of various music sheets and songs. Also included in this collection are cassette tapes, records of Cindy Walker songs, and handwritten journals of all compositions listed by year. Lastly, the collection includes three framed items, a hat used by Cindy Walker in the 1940s, and an award from the Academy of Country Music given to Cindy Walker in 2010. The folder titles preceding a colon reflect Walker’s original description.
