Marcia Hatfield Daudistel Papers
Scope and Contents
The Marcia Hatfield Daudistel Papers document the writing career of the award-winning west Texas author and editor, with the majority of the records dating from the early 1990s to the publication of her latest book Across the Border and Back: Music in the Big Bend in 2022. The collection is arranged into 12 series, ranging from her first published book Literary El Paso in 2009 to correspondence from other west Texas located authors, notably Jose Cisneros and Bryan Woolley, among others.
The bulk of this collection relates to Daudistel’s five published works. Photographs, research materials, interview transcripts, manuscript drafts, handwritten notes, and multiple USB drives corresponding to each of Daudistel’s books document the author’s process, from editing to the eventual publication, to the publicity of each of her works. Additionally, this collection includes other works by Daudistel, publications/drafts by her literary contemporaries, and organizations that the author interacted with.
