Scope and Contents

This collection consists of archival materials relating to the personal life and career of fiction and nonfiction writer, Stephen Harrigan from 1951-2016. Majority of the materials in the collection are research and drafts for Harrigan’s latest novel, A Friend of Mr. Lincoln. The collection also includes novel and screenplay drafts of ISHI, O.J. Simpson Story, and Aransas; photographs of Harrigan and his family; correspondence including a letter from former President George W. Bush to Marjorie Harrigan; reviews of Harrigan’s works; and published articles by Harrigan. The folder titles preceding a colon reflect Harrigan’s original descriptions.
