Scope and Contents
Archival material received from poet, Naomi Shihab Nye dating 1925-2023. Materials include personal and professional correspondence, genealogical material pertaining to the Allwardt and Shihab families, photographs, press and reviews of works by Nye and her father, Aziz Shihab, poetry written by Nye and others, chapbooks, artwork, awards, event and memorial programs, event posters, audiovisual materials and ephemera. This collection also includes manuscripts, press, reviews and correspondence for 19 Varieties of Gazelle and What Have you Lost? and a collection of early correspondence between Robert Bonazzi and Nye as well as files pertaining to the Bonazzi, Robert Bly and William Stafford. Backlog includes 54 titles.
