 Series

Series Description

The correspondence series is divided into three sub-series: Correspondence to Bob and Helen White; Correspondence from Bob and Helen White; and Correspondence by Others. The first sub-series contains correspondence from the American Federation of Musicians, talent-booking agencies, record companies, performance invitations, as well as personal letters from fans, family and industry acquaintances. Notable in this sub-series is a handwritten letter from Johnnie and Barbara Gimble, a postcard from Laura Lee McBride, a duplicate telephoned telegram to McBride from President Ronald Reagan, and two handwritten notes from Charlie Strait.

Correspondence from Bob and Helen White includes invitation and thank you letters pertaining to participation in a Laura Lee McBride benefit concert, and a postcard from White to his family. Of interest is a letter from White to the Phoenix Symphony requesting an audition and detailing his vast musical education.

The third sub-series, Correspondence by Others is a small collection comprised of postcards and letters from family, friends, and industry acquaintances.
