Scope and Contents
Archival materials pertaining to the life of Texas blues rock guitarist, Stevie Ray Vaughan (1954-1990) who died tragically in a helicopter crash on August 27, 1990. Materials dating 1975-1990 include Stevie Ray Vaughan’s handwritten song lyrics, chord progressions, items of SRV’s clothing including the black felt hat and silver concho worn at his 1984 Carnegie Hall performance, his fringed suede boots and other personal artifacts, photographs and posters, handwritten show and recording critiques for the Live Alive Tour, 1987 tour and the Family Style LP with brother Jimmie Vaughan, tour itineraries, set lists, framed items, personal notes on sobriety, VHS tapes of shows and a few of his books.
