Scope and Contents

From the Collection:

This addition contains more archival material from author Sergio Troncoso and is closely related to Collection 143 (Sergio Troncoso Papers). As in Collection 143, there are many drafts of Troncoso’s published works. In this addition, the handwritten first drafts of “The Abuelita” and essays that appear in “Crossing Borders: Personal Essays” are highlights. Also of note are the unpublished, handwritten short stories and essays written when Troncoso was still studying at Yale. Troncoso’s academic career is well-documented in this addition, from his personal statement for law school applications, letters of recommendation from his professors at Harvard, to his acceptance letter from Yale. As with all material donated by Troncoso, there are handwritten notes for many of the items explaining the context and importance of the material to Troncoso.

Seven signed books by Troncoso have been cataloged and will be available for viewing on site.
