Scope and Contents
This series consists of memoranda, correspondence, press releases, news clippings, op-eds, vitas, publications, speeches, and other planning documents. The materials span 1989 to 2002, covering the tenure of Supple’s presidency. Items relate to events that took place during Supple’s presidency, including his diagnosis with cancer, his research on cancer and higher education leaders, his media appearance and publications, SWTSU’s enormous growth, and the university’s name change. Speeches and news clippings make up the majority of the materials. President Supple delivered most of the speeches which include outlines, talking points, and remarks. The memoranda and correspondence come from Supple, the University News and Information Service, and the Office of Media Relations and Publications.
