Historical Note
This short program, produced by the college shortly after Lyndon Johnson became President of the United States, features the President's connections to Southwest Texas State in San Marcos, Texas.
"This is the story of Lyndon B. Johnson's college years. Comments he made years later as he remembers the years 1926-1930 when he was a student at Southwest Texas, have been added from various speeches he made at the college. The tape begins with a portion of "Now Let Us Remember Famous Men," a musical piece written by Texas composer Darren Kirk, in honor of then Vice-President Johnson when the college bestowed upon him the only Doctorate giving in the history of SWT."
