From the Collection:

This collection consists of a wide variety of items including attire, banners, framed materials, trophies, plaques, scrapbooks, objects, and posters. The bulk of the collection consist so materials created in the 1980s to the 2010s with the bulk of the collection being posters.

Physical Description

One 8 inch dinner plate by Homer Laughlin China with gold and red edge with Texas State University logo at top. Center has a red etching of Old Main though tree tops.
Back has text: Frist of a Series / Old Main / Historical Old Main at Texas State University-San Marcos / has served as a campus landmark since 1903. The red-gabled / Victorian building was designed by noted architect Edward / Northcraft. On March 28, 1901, the Texas Senate passed Senate / Bill No. 142, accepting 11 acres of land from the City of San / Marcos and appropriating $35,000 for the erection of buildings / ($25,00 for construction and $10,000 for maintenance). / Work on Old Main began in 1902 and the corner stone was laid / April 28, 1902. In spite of difficulties caused by what appeared to / be a deep cave in the hill, the normal school was ready for the 303 / students and 17 faculty members who were there when Southwest / Texas State Normal School opened its doors on Sept. 9, 1903. / www.collegiatechina.com / 04.
