Biography
Leland Eugene Derrick came to the university after teaching and serving as an administrator at Sherwood Texas high school. He retired in 1971. During his time in San Marcos, he was chairman of the English department, dean of the Graduate School, and acting president of Southwest Texas College from July 1968 to January 1969 and from April to September of 1969.
